Quickfire comment without reading in depth:

Note that if the research is talking about PHYSICAL mm as measured on 
screen, these can't be converted to px using that conversion ratio. That 
conversion looks at the relationships between CSS mm and CSS px - CSS mm 
are by their definition anchored on the CSS px, and bear no direct 
relationship with physical mm.
