https://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/66524/20140228-survey/results

Survey Results

Kim: need a volunteer for Silverlight Techniques

Kathleen: works on Netflix on a mobile device, not supported on Windows. I will research more

https://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/mobile-a11y-tf/wiki/Draft_Understanding_WCAG_2.0

Kim - we need volunteers for the understanding document

Kathy: broken into sections

David - I will do 3.1 - 3.2

Kathy - I will do 1.1-1.4

Kim - this can be done over the next couple of weeks

Kim - we will email for additional volunteers for the remaining sections

Gap Analysis with external mobile guidelines

Kim - Alan had a suggestion

Alan - mobile app has a main menu that flies in from the side that either replaces the content, the menu do not get read correctly. This happens quite frequently when views are used

jon - are we doing techniques for specific platform

kathy - we have not determined that yet

jon - we should talk to organizations

Michael - Apple is a member and we can solicit them

Kathy - jon how would we phrase that

Jon - there is a change of context and hiding content

Jon - I will look up and suggest this

Alan - issues when AT is turned on but works fine when not turned on

Kim - are there other missing techniques

Kim - Jan has sent a gap analysis with the BBC guidelines

Kim - the other two big guidelines should be reviewed. Are there other guidelines?

Kim - BBC, Funka Nu and IBM

Kim - we are looking for volunteer for Funka Nu and IBM guidelines and put together similar report like Jan did for BBC

David - I will do the IBM guidelines

http://www.funkanu.com/PageFiles/18509/Mobile-Navigation-Guidelines-Funka-2014.pdf

http://www.funkanu.com/PageFiles/18509/Guidelines_for_the_development_of_accessible_mobile_interfaces.pdf

jon - the guidelines are best practices and may not have direct mappings. We should think about how they would be categorized - failures, advisory, best practice

kathy - good idea

Jon - look at the research between touch size

Kathy - look at MIT touch lab study

Kim - should we look at the on the research side

Kathy - we will reach out to the mailing list

Kathy - take the rest of the meeting to work on the techniques and the understanding doc

Kim - we will have a meeting next week

Kim - no meeting the following week
