I first met Alan in the early days of W3C. He and I spent many hours figuring out how to make the impenetrable bureaucracies of IBM and MIT cooperate, and he always managed to make the task pleasant. I'd often bump in to Alan en route to W3C activities in Asia, and those airport meetings were always a special pleasure, because then we could just talk without an agenda to deal with. Every time I talked with Alan, I came away from the encounter a better person. I'll miss you, Alan. May your memory be a blessing. -- David Singer, IBM Distinguished Engineer, IT Research (AIS) Member, IBM Academy of Technology IBM Almaden Research Center, San Jose, CaliforniaReceived on Thursday, 1 June 2006 19:47:37 GMT
