I prefer this wording, although we have now moved from "device" to "devices" in a way which is, I suspect, too general.  Also, we want the indication to remain during the timeframe of the permission grant.  What about 

  Whenever the current site has permission to access a device without further interaction with the user, the browser MUST so indicate during the entire time such permission remains.
