Hi Hugh, sorry to answer so late, I had my .procmailrc configured wrongly sorting this list into a completely wrong folder! The conference name is 12th International Conference on Semantic Systems - SEMANTiCS 2016 as written in the call properly. Sometimes, we select a slogan. 2014 it was "Towards engineering of information machines". This year it is the "The Linked Data Conference". Any divides you are outlining in your email are stipulated. Linked Data as such is one (of many) technologies to build semantic systems. Submissions focussing on Linked Data are welcome as are submissions focussing on other relevant topics. Linked Data is not a Golden Hammer [1]. Nothing wrong with a well-made XML Schema or a relational database, if the use case demands it. If you are in doubt whether your topic is applicable to the conference, you can contact us, but the scope is rather broader than narrow.
