Research Assistant/Associate Position at QCRI

The Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) is seeking candidates
for a research assistant/associate position to work in the Distributed
Systems group in the area of decentralized social web applications.

We are searching for an outstanding web/mobile developer with some
experience with web backends. You will be working on the Crosscloud
project, which is a joint project with Tim Berners lee and his
Decentralized Information Group at MIT CSAIL. Crosscloud is an
architecture for social Web applications that is decentralized, and in
which user's data is managed independently of the applications that
create and consume it. You will be responsible for developing
innovative and reusable web and mobile applications using the
Crosscloud architecture, and working on improving the backends that
support Crosscloud.

One research assistant/associate position (up to 1 year appointment,
renewable to 2 years) is available with Dr. Essam Mansour. The ideal
candidate should have:
- A BS or MSc in computer science or a related field.
- Frontend development experience with HTML/XHTML, Javascript (pref.
Angular), and CSS.
- Backend development experience with Java or Node.js.
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
- Semantic Web experience (RDF, SPARQL, OWL, XML).
- Experience with Android SDK.
- Experience in Linux and scripting.
