OpenCube: linked statistical data (series of webinars)

# OpenCube - publishing and reusing multidimensional statistical data as linked data

Now that the EC funded OpenCube project nears its end, the project consortium wants to present their major achievements in a series of webinars.

**Webinar 1: the OpenCube Project **

Tuesday September 8th, 18h CEST (45 min)

Presenter: CERTH

*This webinar will give a brief description of the project along with the vision of performing analytics on top of multiple cubes.
Two developed software components (the Expander and the Browser) will be presented as a proof of concept of this vision*

Agenda:

* presentation of the project (10 min)
* merging multiple cubes for advanced analytics (10 min)
* presentation of tools for merging and analyzing cubes (15 min)
* Questions and answers (10 min)

**Webinar 2: the OpenCube Toolkit**

Tuesday September 15th, 18h CEST (45 min)

Presenter: fluidOps

*One of the outcomes of the project is the set of open-source components for managing linked statistical data cubes.
These components are packaged as the open source OpenCube Toolkit
built on top of the fluidOps Information Workbench platform. This
webinar provides an overview of the components for importing,
browsing, and visualizing linked data cubes and shows how they can be
reused to build custom applications.*

Agenda:

* Overview of OpenCube project (5 min)
* Introduction to the Information Workbench platform: (10 min)
* Demonstration of tools developed (15 min)
* Ongoing work and planned improvements (5 min)
* Questions and answers (10 min)

**Webinar 3: PublishMyData for publishing governmental statistical data**

Tuesday September 22th, 18h CEST (45 min)

Presenter: Swirrl

*One of the pilot projects in OpenCube was the application of Swirrl's PublishMyData platform to statistical data from the UK Department for Communities and Local Government. This webinar explains the challenges of accessing and combining statistical datasets from a government department, and how the tools developed in OpenCube were designed to meet those challenges.*

Agenda:

* Overview of OpenCube project and summary of overall outputs (5 min)
* Objectives (2 min)
* Background and context: the DCLG data collection and DCLG requirements (10 min)
* Demonstration of tools developed (15 min)
* Ongoing work and planned improvements (5 min)
* Questions and answers (10 min)
