[Open Position] Post-Doc Researcher - Mathematical Groundwork for Knowledge Discovery

*Insight, NUI Galway* is in the process of undertaking a research project
in collaboration with Fujitsu Laboratories Limited and* Fujitsu Ireland*.
The project focuses on research and development in the area of knowledge
discovery from both structured and unstructured data on the Web. We have
currently two open positions for the project, described in the following.



*Post-Doctoral Researcher*

As a part of the project we are looking for a post-doctoral researcher who
will be located in Galway, Ireland and will pursue research primarily in
the area of graph theory and multi-linear algebra, which constitute a
theoretical groundwork for the machine-aided discovery methods being
investigated in the project.



The chosen candidate will be hired as an Insight post-doctoral researcher
on a rolling 1-year contract basis for the duration of the research
project. This will be 3 years (starting on 1st of August, 2015), with a
possible 2 year extension. The salary range is €37,750 to €46,255 p.a. and
will be awarded commensurate with experience. At a high level the chosen
candidate will need to have the following capabilities:

  - working within a team of researchers based locally in Ireland and
internationally (Fujitsu Labs in Japan),

  - working on industrially relevant research within multinational academic
research settings,

  - delivering novel research as well as helping to implement the research
outcomes in the form of prototypes,

  - occasional supervision of junior researchers in specific sub-projects.
