Open PostDoc or PhD Position on Information Extraction and Large-Scale Data Management at the University of Mannheim

Dear all,

the Focus Area Web-based Systems (Prof. Christian Bizer) within the 
Research Group Data and Web Science at the University of Mannheim is 
offering a PhD or PostDoc position in the EU funded research project 

The position has an initial duration of 13 months and is paid according 
to German salary scale (up to 2.500$ per months after taxes). An 
extension of the contract beyond the duration of the project is planned.

We seek candidates with a university degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) or PhD 
in computer science or related areas. For PhD candidates, the 
regulations of the University of Mannheim require at least a B level exam.

The successful candidate will work in the PlanetData project on topics 
such as:

* Information Extraction
* Data Cleaning
* Data Interlinking
* Large-scale Data Management
* Data Provisioning and Cataloging

Good programming skills and fluent English are required. Experience in 
project work is an advantage. For PostDocs, we expect a proven track 
record in at least one of the topics listed above.

The position is open from June 1st, 2013. Application screening starts
