Focus is on the increased automatisation of content and service delivery, as well as multi-channel communication and dissemination. STI Innsbruck is currently seeking candidates for the following position:

 

 

PostDoc

 

 

We are searching for new staff to help us in projects such as:

 

MSEE: The first Grand Challenge for MSEE project is to make SSME (Service Science Management and Engineering) evolve towards Manufacturing Systems and Factories of the Future. 

BIG: Building an industrial community around Big Data in Europe is the priority of this project, together with setting up the necessary collaboration and dissemination infrastructure to link technology suppliers, integrators and leading user organizations. 

PRELIDA: The Linked Data cloud has specific characteristics in terms of structuring, interlinkage, dynamicity and distribution that pose new challenges to the preservation community. PRELIDA will organize in-depth discussions among the linked data and preservation communities to identify which of these characteristics require novel solutions, and to develop road maps for addressing the new challenges.

PlanetData: The main aim of PlanetData is to establish an interdisciplinary, sustainable European community of researchers, helping organizations to expose their data on the Web in a useful way.

SUPPORT aims to raise the current level of port security by integrating legacy port systems with new surveillance and information management systems using semantic technology.

 

 

Furthermore our researchers continuously acquire new projects.

The annual gross salary for a Postdoctoral researcher (full time position) at our institute (depending on the specific qualification): from € 55.818

 

 

We expect:

 

An excellent PhD degree, or equivalent academic degree, in Computer Science or related disciplines

 

Research interest in at least one of the areas Knowledge Representation, Logics (e.g. Description Logics, First-order Logics, Logic Programming), Ontology Languages, or related Semantic Web topics

 

Practical experience in computational aspects of logics and the construction of respective software systems are a definite plus for applicants

 

The willingness to combine formal scientific work with application-oriented research in projects funded by the European Commission and national Austrian agencies

 

We are looking for individuals who will be able to continue their existing field of research within our ongoing and new research projects. The senior positions will also include management responsibility for a research cluster of 3 – 6 junior researchers
