I'll take a look.

General rule of thumb: If it doesn't take that amount time to answer the 
same query at <http://dbpedia.org> then be rest assured one of the 
following factors is in play:

1. Data Set Uploads (we are still chugging through the LOD cloud)
2. Various updates and maintenance


This instance is significantly more powerful and faster than the 
Virtuoso 5.x instance serving <http://dbpedia.org>, when it comes to 
very large data set handling (uploads, deletes, and querying).

I haven't dropped the volatility warning on the LOD instance yet :-)
