I asked who had a FOAF profile and nobody raised their hand (although
at least one person did, to my knowledge).

I honestly don't know. I would guess mostly developers/coders.

On that I really, really don't know - I suspect a brief introduction,
I'll cc danbri to see what he reckons.

What was extremely good was that this tutorial was arranged as intro
bits to the semweb conference, the organizers (Valentina with an 'a'!
and Aldo) recognised the relevance. Having experts in the field
acknowledge the significance of linked data is a good start, imho.
