rdf:text - effect on linked data?

Hi,

Has there been any thought given to the potential RDF change in the rdf:text proposal from OWL (and RIF)?  It changes RDF so that there are two ways to write down literals with language tags:

Old data still works, but new forms may appear.  Given the datasets now around involve language tags, I wondered if there were any thoughts of advantages and disadvantages of this.
