Wow, I didn't intend to side-track this PR so much. My reaction (and perhaps the one of others too) was solely triggered by the fact that I expected the Hydra client library to be something lower level. I'd suggest we call that out explicitly in the doc, merge this PR and iterate. Thanks a lot @dschulten for taking the lead on this and please bear with us.
