I have met Ian a couple of times in person, and he's come across as a
very likable, charming person.

But this is the rant of a megalomaniac, and would personally prefer to
see such things removed from the table of standards discussions. I
don't know how it might work, but for the health of future projects I
prefer if Ian's opinions were left as such, not affecting the future
technical directions.
