Re: Open video for an open web

I haven't been following this thread much of late and am frankly not sure of its current disposition. But the following news article:

dated May 19, 2010 makes me think that some of our earlier suggestions that someone could just "make" a new video codec that steers clear of both patent and cost concerns may have been taken to heart?

am I missing something?
