If you opt not to use the HTML5 definition for determining the  
language of a node (the definition doesn't depend on the HTMLness bit  
of the Document object), please define your alternative algorithm in  
terms of namespace and local name pairs to make it clear what it means  
in terms of DOM Level 2 and the Infoset.
