Summary: Need to expose media metadata properties
           Product: HTML WG
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
               URL: http://esw.w3.org/topic/HTML/UANormAndDOMForMediaPropeti
                    es
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Spec proposals
        AssignedTo: dave.null@w3.org
        ReportedBy: rob@robburns.com
         QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
                CC: ian@hixie.ch, mike@w3.org, public-html@w3.org

* users want (and sometimes need) access to metadata stored within various
media formats
 * often immanent metadata properties are better way to store metadata for
authors and users so that these properties do not become separated from the
file, but UAs often lack a mechanism to access that metadata stored in that way

(see http://esw.w3.org/topic/HTML/UANormAndDOMForMediaPropeties for evolving
solution proposals)
