RE: [whatwg] several messages about the HTML syntax

The only way to provide a long description without scripting is to make a
hyperlink to it next to the control.  This clutters the user interface and
should be avoided; however, Web applications that are complex enough to
require such long descriptions on controls can hardly do anything without
scripting so this question is rather scholastic.

And how do you do that without JavaScript. That's the question.
