I'm still interested to hear from the editor about that suggestion.

Henri said he didn't find it appealing, and he has
offered two suggestions (21 Oct 2007 18:01:54 +0300).
I'm not repeating them here because I get the impression he
doesn't consider them an improvement on the current text
(http://dev.w3.org/html5/html-design-principles/Overview.html 1.10,
which is the same as 1.9 for the purpose of this discussion)
