[html5] PRE element

For example in HTML4 <pre> can contain <input> elements but not <img> or 
<object> [1]. It appears that HTML5 is far less restrictive in this 
respect [2], <pre> there can contain <img> and <object>.

Is this an intention or probably I missed something?
