It's deprecated to be a strong reminder that is is NOT a best practice.
That's like saying xhtml should validate whether or not I use <br> or <br
/>.
Sure both will work as expected in every browser. But if you're using xhtml
you should be using <br />

Yes I am changing my mind on dropping the style="" attribute now that I've
been reminded of the scoped style element.
