WG Decision: Request transition of HTML5 to Proposed Recommendation

http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-admin/2014Sep/0026.html

Sam: We received one comment and it will be discussed with the Director at the Transition Review meeting on Fri Sep 12
... Comment concerned one normative reference.
a) Accessibility Task Force

Janina: longdesc CfC closed in the A11Y TF
... TF has an implementation report ready
... There is a Formal Objection on longdesc
... TF has requested expedited processing of the FO and we are waiting for the Director's decision
... TF decision will be issued later today

<janina> http://w3c.github.io/test-results/html-longdesc/cr-report.html

Janina: TF work has exceeded the minimum CR criteria
... TF is working on possible A11Y work for HTML 5.1 time frame
... TF may want to bring forward items to the WG but others the TF can do itself ie update CAPTCHA Note
... TF is considering TPAC possible WG topics
... Work continues on alt techniquest readiness for publication as a WG Note
... Finalization simply requires boilerplate work like date, copyright, "look and feel" as a WG Note
... edits will be done next by TF staff contact
Media Task Force

paulc: We continue to discuss the EME bugs
... progress is very slow and there are still 20+ bugs open
... MSE has a new set of test cases provided again by Google in a new pull request

https://github.com/w3c/web-platform-tests/pull/1238
Canvas2D TF

Sam: TF met for the first time as a TF this week
... identified missing test cases and target is to get them done by end of Sep
... Then results are needed to exit CR
... The minimum period for the CR ended on Sept 9
... implementation Safare 8, Chrome Canary and Firefox nightly
... TF will meet Friday at 3pm ET in the future
... first occaision will be Sept 26
Extensible Web Summit, Berlin, Sep 11

Sam: This occurred today in Berlin
... pics and tweets available at https://twitter.com/search?q=%23extwebsummit
... there are raw breakout notes
... for example here is one on accessibility http://oksoclap.com/p/ews-berlin-rte-accessibility
... we will make the consolidated minutes available on public-html-admin@w3.org
TPAC and HTML WG F2F, Oct 30-31

paulc: Register "early and often" http://www.w3.org/2014/11/TPAC/#venue
... Wiki page is very rough (clone of previous page) and is UNDER CONSTRUCTION: https://www.w3.org/wiki/HTML/wg/2014-10-Agenda
... paulc will be editing RSN
... first candidate items are items from A11Y TF discussion for topics for HTML 5.1 time frame
Other Business

None raised
