Hi everyone,

My name is Tamara Gielen and I'm Email Marketing Manager for eBay in
Belgium. Next to that I'm also the author of a leading email marketing best
practices blog, I invite you to visit it:
http://www.b2bemailmarketing.com.

I just joined this group and read through all the previously posted
messages. Let me start by saying that I think this a really great

initiative!

In my day-to-day job at eBay it is my task to send out targeted HTML emails
to our Belgian eBay-members to inform them of promotions, to educate them on
how to use the eBay site and to drive traffic to the listings on our site.

We only send HTML emails to people that have specifically requested to
receive emails from us.

The biggest challenge for me as an email marketer today is the fact that
every email client out there interprets my HTML emails differently. Certain

code works in certain email clients but not in others. Certain clients strip
out pieces of code, while others have no issue with it...

If this workgroup can come up with a solution for that, that would be

absolutely fantastic!

I will be following this initiative with great interest and am happy to give
my input from the marketer's perspective any time you need.

All the best,
Tamara
