the <hr> tag must die

The full name of this element suggests a visual presentation ("horizontal") and carries years of built-in presentational baggage from all existing browsers--some of which cannot be zeroed out or overridden.  The HTML5 proposal for <hr> is no better.

The <separator /> tag from XHTML2.0 would be a much needed improvement.  This new element is purely semantic, implies no presentation and carries no rendering baggage from years of browser and user abuse.

Please, please deprecate <hr>!
