[Bug 16530] New: HR aka horizontal rule no longer visual

https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=16530

Summary: HR aka horizontal rule no longer visual
           Product: HTML WG
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
Component: HTML5 spec (editor: Ian Hickson)
        AssignedTo: ian@hixie.ch
        ReportedBy: dgermanw3@Real-World-Systems.com
         QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
                CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org,
                    public-html@w3.org

HTML 4 stated:

The HR element causes a horizontal rule to be rendered by visual user agents.

Although (for reasons that are unclear [to me]) all the attributes were
deprecated.

This tag is currently in use a visual divider on many pages and is supported in
this manner by many user agents.

It seems that the HTML5 specifications still includes the tag makes no mention
of a horizontal rule.

Is this an oversight?

If this is posted to the incorrect component,
I would appreciate it if it were moved to the correct one.
Thank you.

Sincerely,
DG12
