[Bug 12888] New: the crossorigin attribute

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=12888

           Summary: the crossorigin attribute
           Product: HTML WG
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
Component: HTML5 spec (editor: Ian Hickson)
        AssignedTo: ian@hixie.ch
        ReportedBy: shelleyp@burningbird.net
         QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org
                CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org,
                    public-html@w3.org

The HTML5 specification document linked at the W3C has a crossorigin attribute
on the media elements and img. However, the Last Call document does not have a
crossorigin attribute for these elements.

Please link the Last Call document in the HTML WG.

Next, please remove the crossorigin attribute from the img and media elements,
and any supporting material for this attribute from the HTML specification that
is linked in the HTML WG. I don't believe this one was discussed in the HTML
WG, and this is a major change.

At a minimum clarify the status of crossorigin: is it HTML5? Part of some
future HTML? If part of HTML5, where is the use cases for the attribute, as
well as the request from the community for its support?
