That's irrelevant. HTML5 has a role attribute on its own without defining it by
reference to the Role Attribute Draft.

Actually, the conformance checker implementation predates ARIA integration in
the HTML5 spec and was based on discussing the prospects of ARIA extensibility
with a browser implementor familiar with the matter.
