Fly to Barcelona.

You need to get to the Barcelona Sants station (the main long-distance station). There is a train from the airport (€4, allow half an hour), you can take a taxi (€20 - €25), or there is a trick that airport staff use, taking a bus then train to save a euro and a few minutes - see

Then you take the AVE (long distance high-speed train) to Zaragoza station. It's a shade under 2 hours, goes regularly, and one-way economy fare is around €10 from http://www.renfe.es

The venue and onsite accommodation are connected to the station by a walkway.

If you're not staying there, the nearest hotel is 4 stars, about €65 / night on booking.com when I looked today, and 200 metres away. The centre of the historic town centre (roman theater, cathedral, etc) is about 1 3/4 miles. Expect to pay about €50 for a 3-star hotel in the centre, about €120 for 5 stars with spa, pool, sauna, gym, etc.

There is good public transport, taxis are cheap, safe and reliable, and there is a city-wide bicycle hire system (the centre of the city is basically flat).

Hope that helps.
