WG Decision on Polyglot Note vs Recommendation Track

The Polyglot Note vs Recommendation Track preference poll has indicated that the HTML WG prefers to keep the Polyglot specification on the Recommendation Track by a vote of 21-19-1-1:

Therefore, the HTML Working Group hereby adopts the position to keep the Polyglot specification on the Recommendation track:

Of the two positions before us, this one has drawn more support in the preference poll.

Bug 12725 status will be changed to RESOLVED WONTFIX and marked as WGDecision.

The Editors are asked to prepare a new Polyglot Last Call Working Draft and to submit the candidate LC WD to the Chairs so that we can do a CfC on publishing the LC WD.   The Chairs propose that this Last Call be scheduled to last 6 weeks from its publication date.

If anyone strongly disagrees with the content of the decision and would like to raise a Formal Objection, they may do so at this time. Formal Objections are reviewed by the Director in consultation with the Team. Ordinarily, Formal Objections are only reviewed as part of a transition request.

This issue can be reopened if new information is presented.
