RE: CfC: to publish HTML 5.1 specification as a First Public Working Draft (FPWD)

I agree, but I'm wondering who will volunteer to prepare the extension specs. I'm happy to pull stuff out of the main HTML5 document...

html a11y task force chair hat off:

I request the following be considered by the working group before publication:

a) the author conformance requirements in section '4.8.1.1 Requirements for providing text to act as an alternative for images' [1] be separated out and go through the process of publication as an extension spec.

b) the generator-unable-to-provide-required-alt attribute [2] be separated out and go through the process of publication as an extension spec.

c) the hgroup element be separated out and go through the process of publication as an extension spec.

This is a Call for Consensus (CfC) to publish as a First Public Working Draft (FPWD) the following HTML 5.1 document:

Silence will be taken to mean there is no objection, but positive responses are encouraged. If there are no objections by Thursday Dec 13, this resolution will carry.

Considerations to note:

- As a First Public Working Draft, this publication will trigger patent policy review.

- As a Working Draft publication, the document does not need not be complete, to meet all technical requirements, or to have consensus on the contents.
