Itemized Bugs to Review

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=8657
- Allow UA to reload fallback content if it fails to load. (RESOLVED
NEEDSINFO) - Gez Lemon

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=8673
- Restriction on command element as part of a menu. (RESOLVED NEEDSINFO) -
Gez Lemon

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=9673
- Remove any reference to a specific Time Stamp format for video
captioning from the specification at this time. (RESOLVED WORKSFORME) -
John Foliot

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=9773
- There is not a clear difference between "subtitles" and "captions".
These are mostly used to describe "closed captions" (binary transmissions
in TV broadcasts) vs "subtitles" (text files), as far as I know. (RESOLVED
WORKSFORME) - contributor@whatwg.org

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=9774
- "consecutive lines displayed below each other" - since subtitles tend to
be rendered at the bottom, it's actually better for new subtitles to be
rendered higher up. Of course, the individual lines of each subtitle still
extend downwards, but it's still possibly better to say "after each
other". (VERIFIED INVALID) - contributor@whatwg.org

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=9775
- "positioned to a multiple of the line dimensions of the first line of
the cue" - enforcing the same line height for every line ihurts text
rendering appearance for no apparent reason. This is especially true if
text styling is supported (bold text is large)" (RESOLVED NEEDSINFO) -
contributor@whatwg.org

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10693
- Need a means for navigating between related timed tracks of media
elements (RESOLVED NEEDSINFO) - Silvia Pfeiffer

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10839
- Providing visible indication that descriptions and captions are
available. (RESOLVED WORKSFORME) - John Foliot

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10840
- Allow the user to independently adjust the volumes of the audio
description and original soundtracks. (RESOLVED NEEDSINFO) - John Foliot

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10841
- We require a method to allow the user to control playback timing in
order to have more time to understand the material. (RESOLVED NEEDSINFO) -
John Foliot

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10842
- Support the isolation of speech from other background sounds in AV media
(RESOLVED NEEDSINFO) - John Foliot

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10843
- Support user control over the visual presentation of caption text.
(RESOLVED NEEDSINFO) - John Foliot

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10941
- Media elements need control-independent "pause" for presenting lengthy
descriptions/captions (RESOLVED REMIND) - Masatomo Kobayashi

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=11207
- Make track element additions technology neutral (RESOLVED FIXED) - Sean
Hayes

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=11395
- Use media queries to select appropriate <track> elements (RESOLVED
WONTFIX) - Frank Olivier

http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=11593
- The <track> @kind attribute should include the all of the identified
accessibility content types (NEW) - John Foliot

2011-01-05, 22:00Z (for 90 minutes)
Dial the Zakim bridge at one of the following three telephone numbers:
+1.617.761.6200 (This is a U.S. number).
+33.4.26.46.79.03 (This is a French number)
+44.203.318.0479 (This is a UK number)
You should be prompted for a pass code,
this is
2119#
(A11Y#)

IRC: server: irc.w3.org, port: 6665, channel: #html-a11y.

During the conference you can manage your participation with Zakim
commands as follows:
   61# to mute yourself
   60# to unMute yourself
41# to raise your hand (enter speaking queue)
40# to lower your hand (exit speaking queue)

The system acknowledges these commands with a rapid, three-tone
confirmation. Mobile phone users especially should use the mute
function
if they don't have a mute function in their phone. But the hand-raising
function is a good idea for anyone not using IRC.

* IRC access

There will also be an IRC channel available. The server is
irc.w3.org,
the port number is 6665 (note this is not the normal default) and
the channel is #html-a11y.
