Since Estonia has always been claimed to be the foremost country when it comes to eID adoption the following should be of interest: http://www.zdnet.com/article/android-ios-secure-id-estonia-says-its-taking-digital-authentication-to-new-levels/ IMO, it is not realistic asking the market to wait for years on standards that only "may" be supported.
