I note that for all of these the Test Cases clarify.

a)
http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/grddl-wg/td/grddl-tests#introduction
makes it clear that test cases is a normative clarification of the spec

b)
tests #htmlbase[1234]
clarify this point

c)
a number of tests use invalid xhtml, that would be valid on deletion of 
some attributes.

d)
the library uses stylesheet PIs - over eager processing will result in 
failure to compile the library
