W3C GLD WG update on F2F3 & next telecon Thursday 14-Feb, 2013

Hi GLDers,
Due to a previously scheduled presentation at the US National Archives, I will not be able to chair this week's call. Our new alternate chair is also traveling internationally and sends regrets for this week's call.

Thus, there is NO CALL on 7-Feb-2013. We'll resume Thursday 14-Feb-2013, usual time, to focus on best practices and vocabs in LC.

May I ask everyone to spend 20-30 minutes reviewing the information about the upcoming GLD F2F to be held in Dublin on 11-12 April 2012 [1] in lieu of meeting this week. I've used the template from our previous F2F (Jan 2012) as a guide.

First, huge thanks to Deirdre Lee for helping to organize a suitable meeting venue (Croke Park, Dublin) at no-charge 11-12 April after the European Data Forum. We'll have to cover our own meals, about €16.50 p.p for catered hot lunch. There is also information about nearby hotels that include breakfast.

** Please make your travel reservations now and consider joining the European Data Forum followed by our F2F3.**

There are lots of blanks in the F2F3 schedule for you to complete. I believe we have the obligation to get the WG's deliverables to a state where they can be transitioned to Candidate Recommendation or cleanly onto to a future working group, (GLD or some other WG).

Note: We may need to adjust the schedule if many people attend remotely from other timezones. Let's discuss on this thread or on the F2F3 wiki page what is practical.

Thus, we have four months to get a lot done [2] and this is our last opportunity to meet F2F. A lot is happening worldwide with Linked Data in 2013 and the practical guidance this group can provide makes a real difference.

It will be a productive F2F if everyone rolls up their sleeves and knocks out a couple of things they have direct experience of & expertise in. Please sign up for a time at the F2F to review/work on deliverables. These can be something you haven't worked on to date but are able to supply useful input and/or guidance. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
