Thanks for your participation at the GLD WG F2

Hello,
We'd like to thank everyone who participated in person and remotely in the F2F this week. A special thanks to our hosts, Dan Gillman at US Bureau of Labor Statistics and Michael Hausenblas at DERI for hosting the F2F sites. We appreciated the consideration and effort that you extended to make our meetings productive and comfortable. Thank you to the W3C for helping those of us in DC to get started at o'dark hundred (really 0700) with plenty of caffeine and healthy snacks to help us think throughout the two days.

Thanks also to each of you who put together a presentation to kick off the many fruitful discussions. For reference and those who couldn't make it, the agenda with links to presentations is available here, http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/wiki/F2F2. Finally, thanks to the people who traveled internationally to attend the F2F. We hope everyone has returned safely to their homes by now.

While its fresh in your mind, please do rally the people who committed to working on the various deliverables. Please remember to copy the public-gld-wg@w3.org list so members can volunteer to help. Better to have eyes early & often. We have February deliverables and agreed to make a splash with the vocab and best practices documents rather than dribble them out slowly. There is a lot of solid work already done, we just have to pull it together to make it accessible and well documented.

If you have any questions on the mechanics of contributing to the deliverables, please reach out to the chairs or editors of the deliverables for help. We're happy to assist.

DRAFT minutes for the two days are here:
Day 1 - http://www.w3.org/2012/01/25-gld-minutes.html
Day 2 - http://www.w3.org/2012/01/26-gld-minutes.html

Please do take a minute to review them as we did make a couple resolutions and produced a number of actions. Also check the tracker to check the status of actions (existing & new).

The next telecon is the usual time on Thursday 2-February.

We renewed some friendships, met some new people, and re-invigorated the working group overall. We made some solid progress and certainly have our work well-defined for the next month.

Enjoy the weekend.

Kind regards,
Bernadette, George and Sandro
