Yesterday, schema.org team announced that our automotive extension is now officially a part of schema.org. Our extension was an important one for the major (2.0) edition of this web-scale vocabulary. However, for our community, it is a major step on its own. The Schema.org team refers to our GAO initiative ( GAO Ontology, GAO W3C Community) on http://schema.org/Car and on individual automotive property pages, and writes about us on their blog: (http://blog.schema.org/) and in its release notes http://schema.org/docs/releases.html). This means that our GAO initiative that was started during the MSD 2013 conference in Paris has achieved global recognition. We will soon be updating the work plan with new activities for our community. Stay tuned.
