Dear Working Group, Please note that I updated the public pages as follows: 1) Removed link for next face to face (until we have a page for the Sept. FtF). 2) Changed schedule for XForms 1.1 to reflect September delivery of XForms 1.1 CR. 3) Pushed out subsequent XForms 1.1 deliverables somewhat due to the above change 4) Removed deliverable schedule for XForms 1.2 Basically, I do not believe the working group can produce transitional, 1.2 AND 2.0. I believe transitional *will* cause some changes to XForms full processors, and those will have to be versioned, but I don't think we can get *two* more versions of XForms done in the time we have alloted. In other words, it looks to me like we will be addressing authoring ease as the main focus of transitional/1.2, and we will get an XForms 2.0 otherwise. Moreover, we *really* need to start up the work on transitional/1.2 spec because, as it stands, there is really no hope of meeting the charter schedule for the first public working draft. I will be raising that issue at the HCG, and the date will have to move, but I will need some idea of how long. In turn, having that idea means we need people who are working on that who can make an estimate. I think the joint forms task force is going to be intricately bound up in producing the next version of XForms. I would like to request now your statements of interest in being an editor for XForms Transitional/1.2, which will involve a 50% time commit from you to write and edit the spec and collaborate with the HTML WG.
