Where we stand...

All,

Following the recent meetings in Mountain View and here in London we
now have some really useful data starting to emerge. The London
meeting produced a lot of use cases, while the MTV meeting concluded
with some interesting high level ideas for what an app cache v2 might
look like.

I've brought a few of those threads together and written up a summary
of the FT's view here:

http://labs.ft.com/2012/08/fixing-app-cache/

I'd like to keep the momentum going, and am interested in members'
views of where we can go next with this. Tobie feels the use cases
need work, but has not been able to allocate the time to that so far.
I think there are some other things we could do as well. Here are
some ideas:

1. Improve the use cases described in
http://www.w3.org/community/fixing-appcache/wiki/Meeting_notes_14_August_2012#Use_cases
2. Debate the proposals from the MTV group
(https://etherpad.mozilla.org/appcache)
3. Consider adopting the draft charter for the group
(http://www.w3.org/community/fixing-appcache/draft-charter-2012-08-15/)

Volunteers to help with (1) or input into the other points is very
welcome, as are any other ideas for moving forward while there is
momentum and attention on this issue.

Cheers,

Andrew
