Thanks Andreas. The article is very helpful for building up a background.

I noticed that some of the protocols/ projects had faded away. Is there 
a dedicated hub to maintain those pointers? I think an up-to-date 
description of the status (e.g. whether the community is still active; 
what real systems have adopted the solutions; ...) will be very 
valuable, especially for new comers to get a quick view of the landscape.

Although the above list is not focused on FSW, FSW is one important way 
to go decentralization. Many of the FSW related projects are also 
surveyed there.
