Re: Moving Java projects to EXPath GitHub

Adam and all,

This sounds like a reasonable proposal. If there is agreement here, what do you need in order to make it so?

Joe

Subject: Moving Java projects to EXPath GitHub

Hey there,

I wondered if we could finally move the following EXPath projects into
the community (i.e. github.com/expath):

https://github.com/fegorges/expath-pkg-java
https://github.com/fgeorges/expath-file-java
https://github.com/fgeorges/expath-http-client-java

We are making use of these in eXist-db, as I am sure others are too.
However for some time we have had to maintain our own forks with
patches for bugs that we have found. I believe that the fixes we have
would also benefit other EXPath users.

I would very much like to have a single upstream source that is usable
by all in the community and maintained. If these could be moved to the
EXPath organisation, I would be happy to take over stewardship for
them.

I am making this request, as I have a number of issues in the
expath-http-client-java project that have been reported by users that
I will be trying to address this week. I would have a warm fuzzy
feeling if I could also contribute these fixes back to the larger
community.

Thanks Adam.
