<skos:Concept rdf:about="http://www.example.org/
     <skos:prefLabel>banana republic</skos:prefLabel>
     <skos:definition>A small country, especially in South and
Central America, that is
     poor and often badly and immorally ruled.</skos:definition>

In Oxford American Dictionnaries, I can read for imperialism.

<skos:Concept rdf:about="http://www.example.org/concepts#imperialism">
     <skos:definition>A policy of extending country's power and
influence through diplomacy or military force : the struggle against
imperialism figurative | French Ministers protested at U.S. cultural
imperialism. </skos:definition>

which is often a meta-concept of the banana republic being a result
of Imperialism politics.
