I work in specifications and research at Cannon
Design<http://www.cannondesign.com>an Architectural Engineering firm
(building architecture); Projects Director
for the nonprofit Accuracy&Aesthetics
<http://accuracyandaesthetics.com>(beauty in data structures); and
serve on several technical committees to
develop standards for Building Information Modeling (BIM) especially as the
built environment interfaces with Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Highlights are OmniClass <http://www.omniclass.org/> and Open Floor
Plan<http://maplab.org/ofpdocs/>.
Ultimately my goal with public data is to spatially link (both semantic and
physical space) data to and from public buildings and buildings used by
everyone, for example health infomatics with clinics and hospitals. The
design and operation of both can benefit each other and benefit the public.
