@kcoyle you may have created any confusion with a definition of data profile if you think that the nature of profiling only applies to data just because you have used it in that context in such a definition. Functional profiling has exactly the same definition except it applies to functional behaviour. We just repeat the words without the stipulation it applies to data. Messy but consistent.
