@agreiner It seems that many people (including myself) do not need it, but it matters to @rob-metalinkage and @nicholascar (as seen in https://github.com/w3c/dxwg/issues/290 indeed). The good thing is that, with the merge of https://github.com/w3c/dxwg/pull/1063, the token mechanism now no longer interferes with anything else. It's a completely separate mechanism that can be ignored without consequence when the client or server wants to.
