Questions on the public list from Clemens Portele [1] and Luca Trani [2] both raise (in part) the question of DCAT scope. The addition of the `dcat:Resource` superclass provides a extension point for further types to be added to a catalogue following the DCAT catalogue pattern. However, the DCAT vocabulary will be limited to the two sub-classes `dcat:Dataset` and `dcat:DataService`. Further specialization can and should be done in DCAT profiles. This philosophy needs to be made explicit with the DCAT document.
