Re: [dxwg] property profileOfTransitive

profileOf is transitive (current model), because profile conformance is a declarative statement, and clients do not necessarily need to be able to test this, or even access a description. Obviously profiles SHOULD have descriptions, tests etc but we can't mandate it. We can mandate the semantics of transitivity however - clients can at least know (that they have been told if not in fact) that conformance to a sub-profile infers conformance to all its transitively referenced parents. 

Its important we dont get sidetracked again yet here - this is the logical model we are talking about - implementations (which can be linked artefacts available from the the logical profile expressed using the Profiles ontology)  may choose any mechanisms they like to express or hide this transitive logical relationship.
