Regarding: 1. both. Regarding the wording, it could be changed to: "manual discovery of available profiles". It's exactly the same purpose as the HTTP spec proposal but to be carried out manually, by people, not automatically. 2. I've expanded on the process of accessing profiles for the example in the "Alternates Views" section above with a "Current Process" set of steps that a user can follow.
