Intense reviewing/impact on schedule

As you'll have seen, Annette and I, perhaps among others, have been
reviewing the BP doc, line by line. Annette has shared her comments, I
have not yet but I may as well so I'll post them shortly.

The editors have been putting in *enormous* amounts of work to get this
doc ready and it now contains a lot of excellent advice. It's a doc I
for one am proud to have had anything to do with.

The But?

The 'but' is that Annette and I, and I hope others, need to complete our
detailed reviews and those reviews need to be acted on. The editors have
been asking for this for *months* and none of us has responded fully.
Caroline, Bernadette and Newton deserve more of our support. Now that
some response is coming, the kind of comments being made are all
constructive and, when acted on will, I believe, make the doc better.

Which is why I agree with Annette that we need to complete the changes
now being asked for before we make our next publication. That might mean
a delay of 1 or 2 weeks, but our hope is that our next publication is
our last call for comments before we seek Candidate Rec. That is, we
want to say with our next publication that the WG believes the doc to be
complete. It clearly isn't. And it's up to the rest of the WG to give
the editors the support they've been asking for.

Cheers

Phil.
