I don't think this is necessary. The current text "The data consumer are these actors who receive and consume the data" sounds fine to me, apart maybe from minor edit. 

I suggest:

"Data consumers are those actors who receive and consume the data"

Or 

"A data consumer is an actor who receives and consumes the data"
